Youth Worker
Are you passionate about seeing youth engaged in healthy community, experiencing meaning and purpose in the present, and looking forward to a future filled with hope and overflowing with possibility? Are you dedicated to helping others serve and support youth in their community? If so, we want to talk with you! We are currently seeking to fill a number of Youth Worker vacancies in communities across Central Ontario and Muskoka.
Key Requirements:
- Pursuing a vital spiritual life as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ
- A faithful and contributing member of a local church
- Possessing a creative, entrepreneurial, and context-sensitive approach to ministry (this is our “secret sauce”!)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills (also a key ingredient to the “sauce”! )
- Willing and able to work evenings and weekends for programs or events
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within teams
- Willingness to do fundraising and community outreach
- Strong computer, organizational, time management, and administrative skills
- 0-5 years experience
About Youth Unlimited YFC Highlands
Daily we strive to connect with youth — across Central Ontario and Muskoka, on the ground or on the Net. We want to see youth thrive where they are at, regardless of who they are, how much they have, or what they believe. We simply want to be there … a trusted friend, to come alongside youth and help them sort life out. A Youth Worker plays a key role in developing and maintaining programs for youth, building community partnerships and staying connected to the youth.

Approach : Providing "safe spaces" within which to build trusting relationships with caring adults using areas of common interest as a catalyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct ministry to youth
- Program implementation
- Operational & personal funding
- Effectively connecting with youth and the community
This is a full time position (40 hours/week). The starting salary range for this staff position is $34,500 to $37,000. It is determined on a scale based on education and experience (0-5 years). It is 100% funded on a missionary basis—requiring the successful applicant to develop a network of ministry partners for funding and support purposes. Benefits are available.
